Red face Help on my 1977 2.7 Porsche

As Soon as I graduated from Highschool I bought myself a 1977 911 2.7 Porsche, Stupid of me since they need alot of work well my porsche broke down and I was off to college. well Ill spare the whole story to get to the point.

Now that I have some time and money I want to start rebuilding it it needs alot of work.

The car has not been started for over 5 Years and I was wondering can I go ahead and try to start it? or should I throw some mystery oil by removing the spark plugs?

What is the best way to remove the spark plugs from a porsche its kind of hard manuvering between the tight space in the back and does anybody have some pointers?

Also Apparently some water got in my vehicle while I was gone and now the brake pedal goes in but does not return. Do I have to remove the brake pedal and does anybody have any info on how to do it?

I removed all carpet from the vehicle, Does anybody know where I can get a cheaper good quality carpet? or what do people recommend?

Thanks!

If it's been sitting awhile I would not try starting it until you remove the gas tank and flush out the old gas that tends to become like varnish when not used. It's not that hard to remove and have it done at a radiator shop. Less than an hour to remove and a flush could run only 30. to 50. bucks is all.
What does your odometer read? My guess is around 70k. if it's the original mileage. I can tell you a few things about it..... like many others can, I'm sure. Glad to help you understand the procedures on what to do with this motor. I'm about to rebuild a 2.7. I have all the parts and all the machining done. I just have to put it together. Maybe you can follow along as I do it, if that's helpful.
When did you buy the car and how long exactly has it sat..... inside or outside a garage??

Hey GGZZ, Have you started in on your project yet? Would you like me to expound on the good news and bad news about your 2.7 engine? I'm still toying with the idea of taking my 2.7 that is all ready to be assemble and just selling it outright as a ready kit. I have 3800. invested in machining and parts. Includes a box of NEW in the box German Mahles, too. Saves you all the trouble and time running around getting what you need. Relayswitcher.
