Keep MFI Alive, or Repalce Ehngine with 3.0?

In a 1972-1973 2.4 MFI car, should I just try to keep the MFI alive, OR swap to CIS, swap the engine for a 1973.5 2.4 with CIS, swap to some aftermarket injection, or swap to an 911SC 3.0? Car is principally used for vintage rallies, so the 3.0 may not pass muster at times, correct? Does it matter if the MFI is from a T or S?

Thanks,

You don't want to swap in CIS, especially onto a motor not designed for it. If the motor is solid, but the MFI is clapped out, repair is a bit expensive for the FI, so I'd pull it, stash it and drop on some Webers until I can afford the rebuild costs. Rebuilding MFI costs double to triple a set of good Webers.

Definitely keep the MFI alive. The biggest wear item on the MFI are the throttle-bodies, and they are not that more more expensive to get refurbished then a set of tired webers. What sort of condition is the MFI in? Often just tuning it up correctly will make a huge improvement.
