911E cam timing specs

While researching cam timing setting specs for my 72 E......... I noticed that 70&71(2.2L) specs show 3.15mm and 72 and 73(2.4L) specs show 2.90mm. Is it because of the slight difference in stroke? Funny thing is both the E cams from different years still carry the same part#. Any idea which is correct???

Compression ratio went down for the 2.4 for emissions reasons. The cam timing likely suffered for the same reason.

Thanks! I did set it at 3.15mm a few years ago and it ran very well. Then I set it at 2.90mm and it seemed a little sluggish. Soooo going back to the 3.15mm and I"ll report back this weekend.

Thanks:) Yep the car FEELS quicker and seems to rev faster with the 3.15mm setting.
