which heat exchanger would you use?

G'day everyone

I have a dilemma regarding my 3.2 rebuild. I have two sets of exchangers:
  • a 3.2 set
  • a freshly jet coated set for a 2.2

The 3.2 has the thicker flanges + the extra length of pipe that stops the reduces the failure of the gaskets.

The 2.2 has the benefit of being jet coated ($400!)

Which set would you use?

TIA

I would sell both and buy a set of SSIs. Dilemna solved!

I`d price the dirty ones at $150-200 and the clean ones at $350-400. You can check prices in the PP classified section or e-bay. That might raise you enough cash for a pair of used SSIs. But other points to consider are emissions in your area, and the fact that you will still need a two in muffler for the SSIs and updated oil lines. Really depends on your budget. Otherwise I would use the thick flange after a good sandblasting and sell the thin flange.
