40IDA - 37mm venturis?
Hi,
Does anybody here has some experience on opening the largest available 36mm venturis for the 40IDAs up to 37mm? Would the airflow in the carb still work properly or will the 36mm venturis be the maximum for the 40mm throttle butterfly? Cheers, Christian |

PMO makes 38's and we've used them, however 36's are the optimal size for 40mm carbs regarding drivability, torque & throttle response. The bigger venturies take more away in the mid-range than you get back on top.
I don't think anything would be gained by machining 36's to 37mm and you'd need a CNC mill or lathe to do this properly.

that would certainly diminish the venturi principle.
