Cam Timing - new style cams

Hello,

I've successfully timed my 911 2-litre racing engine a few times with the old style cams that take the large washer and 46-mm nut. I've got a set of new style cams that tighten via the bolt down the center of the cam. How do you set the cam timing with these cams as I can't turn them counter-clockwise like the old cams to set the overlap?

Thanks,

Rob

Get either a shorter bolt or the one that is right for the cam and with air run it all the way down until it locks tight then you can use the 17 mm box to turn it either way to set your pin. Once the pin is set you can move the crank backward to check the setting of the cam. Once happy with the setting use the air to remove the bolt.

Rob, take a look at our adjustable cam sprockets, they make the race cams very easy to dial in. web site JBRacing.com
