2.7 CIS timing, retard
I will be static timing the engine for start up, how much is the vacuum retard on a 2.7 CIS, or if you don't use the the vacuum connection to the dist. where would you time it? I sure this is in the archives, could not find this in a search.

The retard of the era would drop it back to about 10 degrees after tdc. Disconnect the retard so you would set up enough that you could get just above 30 degrees of advance @ 6K, probably 5 degrees BTDC.

Thanks, this is just for start up, once I get it running and timed properly I'll check the difference by pulling the vac. line. I planned on doing that before removing engine but forgot.

The spec is written right on the engine, 3 btdc vacuum line disconnected. Sometimes I just need to look!
