MFI linkage wear: ball or cup?

Hi all,

since the cups of the MFI linkage seem to be obtained more easily than the ornaments with the balls, does it make sense to replace the cups if I experience wear. Or are the balls the pieces that typically show wear? (or both....)

Regards

Dennis

My experience has been the cups wear more as they are softer metal but you have to keep your balls greased.

OK, thanks ED. I've ordered two new cups (right and left thread) as a trial and will post the results (reduction of play) once I've fitted them

I installed a complete set of new linkages from Supertec. While before I had a lot of popping and farting through the intakes at idle, my car now idles like an EFI engine.

Dave, I've checked the Supertec site, thanks. Did you get the results from installing the new cups & bars only or also the ornaments with the balls on them? (why does this sound a little odd )

This was just from installing the new linkages - the 'cups & bars'. The balls, they seemed to be in good shape.
