I got my new intermediate bearings today and when I opened them up I noticed they didn't have the hole in the center. The bearing with the hole came from the engine. Is this the wrong bearing?
. ![]() My other question is this; I also got my oil pressure relief piston update kit (for the oil bypass). It came with this tube. Where does it go? I don't see it in my PET listing ![]() Thanks for the help. |

HI ahdoman
the bearings are OK as the oil feed is in from the other end of the intergear, just remove the circlip from the end of the intergear and the ally plug to clean the inside and re-fit befor instaling, the *tube* is to be fitted in the bottom spring for guidence , ![]() regards mike

Thanks Mike. Yeah, I removed the plug and thouroughly cleaned the inside of the intergear before reinstalling soo that's not a problem. Why would there be 2 different bearing types?
In regards to the drawing; thanks. What year PET is that found on? |

The updated longer spring slides over that guide. The base of the guide butts against the inside of the updated hex-type plug.

The intermediate shaft bearing is a 993 part which is the same size but look at the case, there is no hole for oil to be delivered to that location.
The oil is delivered from the non thrust bearing and down through the intermediate shaft to the thrust bearing. Bruce |

This is the 2.4 that was in the car when I got it. The engine in the car currently is the 2.7.
