3.2 engine - number 8 main bearing seal removal

Concerns 1986 3.2. I am in process of re-building afore-mentioned motor.
Does anybody have any tips about removing the seal from number 8 main bearing? Mine seems to be stuck fast in the body of the bearing and won't pry out. I am concerned with using too much force with say a screw-driver that I might damage the bearing body.
Any experiences to share? Thanks.

put it on a surface that gives you some height and face down you can pin punch the seal out with a hammer and punch.
You can also leave it slipped half off the crank and pry it out with a heavy screwdriver as the crank supports the bearing.
Couple ideas that I ve used.

HI Higsy
put your bearing against the vice or the corner of something to take the seal out, use the slot in the side of the bearing to remove the seal.

support the bearing

or upright

put a screwdriver in the slot

and hit with a good weight hammer, to deform the back of the seal inwards, so as you can then get the end of the screwdriver end under the back of the seal to prise out,

with no damage to the bearing
