oil leak & car stops running

I finished the engine rebuild and had no leaks or problems. Then I jacked up the passenger side of the targa and rebuilt the front brake caliper. The car was on the jack for a couple of weeks. Now their is a intermittent leak around the top of the oil cooler but I can not see where. The oil also leaks into the heat exchanger.

Next problem, if I hit a sharp bump the car stops running. Nor lights etc. the fuses are fine. After it sits for a few seconds it starts up and runs fine. Is the probel in the key switch on the dash board?

If it's a 3.2 it might be the DME or the DME relay under the drivers seat. I'd try a new relay first, they have a tendency to fail. It's always a good idea to have a spare one in the car. I doubt it has anything to do with the wiring or ignition switch. My DME failed, which I confirmed by putting it into another car. Mine would't start at all till I had it rebuilt.

Hi,

If the problem started after your engine rebuild, you may check all the connectors in the engine bay. One contact may have come loose, causing a stop of ignition or fuel supply. Also check the famous ground straps (engine, gearbox, battery !) if they are tight as well.
DME relay of course is a good candidate as well.

Good luck,

jens
