Mag Engine case sealing

I have looked at many postings on how to clean engine cases. What I have not seen is there any recommended methods of sealing the mag case after cleaning to protect that great new finish??

Hi Kevin,

While its not exactly pretty, Tectyl is the best stuff to prevent corrosion on those mag cases.

Steve, what do you use on aluminium cases? An engine builder I know suggested VHT clear coat but then I read a post by Grady Clay that pretty clearly said DO NOT paint the case with anything.

Andy,

I don't coat these cases with anything; these are not as prone to corrosion and any coating partially blocks heat transfer (cooling).

Just get it clean and maintain it,...
