Airbox Mod...Yes or NO

I've seen cars with modified airboxes but have kept mine stock. I know how to hotrod harleys, but have learned from the Kaws & Suzis that their airboxes are tuned & that is hard to improve the flow.
I do have SSI's with a Monty muffler as well as K&N on my 83 SC with the stock CIS.
I look for opinions based on factual experience.
Thanks, Steve

I've never been able to measure any difference in power between the stock air cleaner cover and aftermarket ones on an SC.

More noise, yes: power, nope. :)

Caveat Emptor on those things.

That's what I thought...........& It's just loud enough.

I modified the one on my race car, and was promptly black flagged for sound, and my lap time was slower. I put the factory box back and haven't looked back.
