Rocker shaft wear?
My rocker shafts have a small ridge just on the valve end and all measure .001 or less wear. What's the general concensus on this? The wear is localized to an area about .250 wide and the rest of the shaft is perfect.
Just to add something here... I found my intake valves all had between .004-.0065 taper. While the exhaust all have exactly .0013 and looks to be they were ground that way (still have grinding marks).

Well your valves are shot, .0005 valve stem taper would be the max for me.

I always just rotate and reorient my rocker shafts to wear on a new area. They will still work fine either way. If you want to make sure you have a quiet valve train you might want to get new ones, a little valve noise doesn't bother me.
