New wrist pins compatable with used rod bushings?

I'm seriously considering a bump in displacement and compression. I'm looking at a set of Mahle 98mm P's and C's or going to a JE/Nickies combo of 98's with some more compression-probably 10.5:1.

I rebuilt my engine two years ago-about 7,000 miles on it. I used my 3.2 P's and C's after them getting a clean bill of health by George @ Ollie's. The rods were reconditioned at that time to factory specs.

My question is, can I get away with using the rods as-is with the new wrist pins that come with the JE's, as I really don't want to open the case, as it was/is new.

PS- I'll make use of the extra plug holes I had machined into the heads when they were rebuilt as part of this-probably an Andial splitter and a 964 dizzy.

After 7,000 miles you should be good to go as long as the rod bushings look good.
If there are any marks or scuffs I wouldn't use them... Nice even wear with a uniform haze is what you want to see.

If the bushings are within spec there is no reason not to. Prep the bushing with a few passes of a red scotchbrite pad and your good to go.

Thanks guys. Of course, re-use would be subject to inspection. I was looking to see if I was nuts to even consider this. I appreciate the replies.
