GT3 rod bearing size... What are they common with?
Are the Gt3 big end rod bearings the same size as any of the earlier Porsche rod bearings?
|
3.0 SC rods.

What is different between variations of 996 GT3 rod bearings?
996 103 121 81 connecting rod bearing M96.76 996 103 121 94 connecting rod bearing M96.79 And does someone know Motorsport bearing number for GT3R 2000/2001? Are those better quality than street GT3? Henry? And last but not least, can you use Pankl rod bolts twice or do you need always new set? |
Cup bearing part number is
996 103 121 90 At least one version of them. It seems that only mains are color coded so three different sizes valid only on those. Does someone know if the quality of these bearings are better than SC/GT3 standard bearings? |
Can anyone update this thread with experience of the tolerance differences of the SC and GT3 sized bearings ?
As we know the main bearings are graded red, yellow and blue to adjust the clearance but no alternatives for the conrod bearings. Has anyone actually checked the difference in clearance using a set of SC genuine Porsche or aftermarket bearings, compared with the GT3 Motorsport ? The GT3 bearings can easily be identified by their 'darker' appearance, they appear to have been processed differently than the SC bearings, looks like a heat treatment or similar tempering of the material |
