Ollie's still in Santa Ana?
I'm looking around for a good machine shop close to my location (Riverside, CA)
Ollie's: olliesmachine.com gives an address in Lake Havasu, AZ. Have they moved? Competition Engineering is up in Bodfish (150 - 200 mi). A bit of a drive as I would like to deliver/pick up the parts. Any preferences or recent experiences? Thanks!

Yes, Ollies moved to Lake Havasu a couple years ago. Same great service.

From Riverside to Lake Havasu is 3 1/2 hours (driving slow). I just drove from Thousand Oaks to Havasu and it was 5 hours door to door. I dropped of my 930 engine with George on a Saturday.
I highly recommend Ike and George at Ollies. They are second to none in honesty and quality. |

I think one of the guys that works there comes into Riverside occasionally. At least that's what Don Kravig at Precision Motion told me a while back when they were doing my 2.2E engine.

Walt @ Competition Engineering is the MAN when it comes to Porsche machine shops. He did my stuff a while back and even with the drive being a drag from Santa Barbara I enjoyed every minute at his shop whenever I went up there. Highly recommended. Not sure what his turn-around time is since he used to be a one-man show more or less. But the work was outstanding to say the least.

Ollie's and Competition Engineering ... I've used both many many times. Walt @ Comp. is great as is Jorge @ Ollie's.
You can't go wrong with either...although your original question was about Ollie's. |
