chain ramps
anybody know the difference between the black and the brown chain ramps??
I ordered 6 ond only got 1 brown one. Wasn't I supposed to get two brown ramp and four black ones?? |
FOUND IT!!
in Wayne's rebuild book. |
Make sure it goes in the right place, lower passenger side inboard.

Do you have to replace the sealing rings also.
I did the second time around, special order through Porsche. Also, be prepared for the old ones to break while removing. I had to fish little pieces of plastic out of the sump. Also pay close attention to which side snaps in and with side doesn't. I personally think changing out the ramps were pretty tricky. Mike. |
left side chain ramp position
I just finished with my chain ramp install on a 71 2.2. On the right side everything snapped into place and the side of the ramps pressed tight against the chain tower housing.
On the left side I didn't hear an audible click for some of the inboard ramps but they seem to be very tight but they rest just a bit away from the side of the housing rather than flush. The bottom inboard ramp stud closest to the tower even seems to have a boss that keeps it from being installed flush against the tower wall. Is this normal?? Thanks:confused: |
The ramps are suposed to be snapped on the pin or bolt, none are suposed to be flush against the wall.
The long side of the ramp goes toward the gear. Bruce |
