Best cam?

What is the best cam for this engine? (Currently using GE-60) Is there a better cam for this configuration? I have to stay at least at 6800 RPMs to make good power. What is everyone else using?

Vintage race car:
914-6
2.7
S-Heads (Twin Plug)
11.5:1 Pistons
Headers
Weber 40's (160 Mains, 36mm Choke Tubes, F3 E-tubes, 170 Airs)
Race Gas
Trans with short gears
Dry Sump

Thanks
David

If I understand your correctly, you are having trouble making power below 6800 rpm?

The GE60 cam should have a 4800 rpm and up powerband in this engine. I would check the camshaft timing and make sure they are set at 5.0mm +/- .2mm. A late setting (4.0mm or lower) can move the powerband up and kill torque.

You might also swap out to a 34mm venturi's in the carbs.

Have you run the car on a chassis dyno?
