does octane booster work

I seem to be on the edge of detonation. In addition to the other steps I am taking (mixture, colder plugs, working pistons squirter's, etc), would adding a can of octane booster help. Snake oil or worth it?

Thanks,

Chris

definitely helps

In my experience one of those small bottles added to a tank bumps the octane by approx 2 points. With 90 octane my 5.9 Durango would detonate like mad but no issues with 92, or one bottle added. I always carried a few of those bottles when going to remote areas where only 90 octane was available

Have you considered taking a little ignition timing or compression out of it? Great time to do it while you have the pistons and cylinders off.
