2.2 rods and bolts

I've been searching the archives but haven't been able to find good information about the use of 2.2 rods and aftermarket bolts. Maybe because no one is using them with all of the aftermarket options available?

What's the general opinion about using 2.2 rods?

Will aftermarket bolts provide good reliability? What rpm limits?
