can it be fixed?

Hey Guys I went to install this line and ran into this. Can this be fixed or should I return it.The middle part in the picture should be fixed around the pipe and is not, kinda like it was never finished at the manufacturer.Any suggestions?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1272065148.jpg

That is a ferrule that crushes on to the line when the nut is torqued. Slide the nut on, the the ferrule, then tighten. Don't over do it.

I thought those were welded on?

EDIT: Just checked an old ratty line I had here and my fitting was loose so it does just slip on.

Also, make sure you put the ferrule on exactly in the same direction as it sits with the line facing the same way. Backwards will do you no good.

Thanks for the response guys! I was not sure if it was welded or how it was attached, when I looked at my old ones they did not appear to be welded so I thought maybe some sort of adhesive.I will install and torque.I also have some isssues with the hard lines that run to the timing chain covers,do they need to be massaged to fit?mine (especially on the 1,2,3) side just are not even close, and some of it is that the lines that run out to the cam towers have different bends in them. Okay to massage to fit?
