1973 T Rebuild Results
Hey guys-
Wanted to get some experts in on this to see if these are the results I should be expecting for a 1973 T rebuild. Stock hp should be 140 hp. This was pretty much a stock rebuild except for the following: 1. Fly cutting of heads with race valve job. 2. Upgraded to 911 E cams Let me know what you guys think. So the conditions in the engine room were 88 F and 19% humidity? Is the above data SAE (or other standard) corrected for those conditions? What oil did they run in the engine? What gear was used to record the data?

Looks like it's getting fairly lean after 4500 rpm. What is your induction system? MFI or Carbs?

Interesting engine. it seems like flycutting the heads approximates the gains typically seen by running 2.2 pistons?
Was the mfi setup reconfigured to suit cams and compression? |

not sure i understood your comment with respect "gains typically seen by running 2.2 pistons". It's a 2.4 engine with 2.4 pistons, are you saying I should have had higher gains? The MFI was supposidley recalibrated to support the new config... I am a bit worried now about running too lean, the mechanic told me it shouldn't be a problem unless I am running the car in 5th at over 5K rpms for a long period of time which I can't imagine I would ever do. - Do I need to have him adjust it accordingly?? Thanks all for the inputs. |
Not sure if gains would have been even higher, but 2.2 pistons are sometimes used in 2.4 builds to raise compression/performance.
I bet you'd see even more power if the fuel:air ratios can be smoothed out. At the very least, prolong the life of this engine. Regardless, I bet your car is quick! |
