SC Oil Pump into 5R/7R case
 

I am sure that this has been covered before but I want to fit an SC pump into a 2.7 mag case.

Does anyone know which parts I will need in addition to the pump?

I have tried to search previous threads but haven't found much.

When using an SC pump you should also upgrade to the venturi sump screen.

I also read a thread that talks about 'short' shaft pumps.


It says that 964 pumps are magnesium and not good, any ideas why? Is it just expansion problems or are there other issues?

The SC pump can use your existing long shaft. The 964 and later pumps use the shorter shaft.

You will have to do the "oil bypass" modification if you have an early case. I'm not sure what the cutoff year is but I think it's around 1975.
