Transmission studs on 930 case
 
Got my 930 block back from Ollie's (thanks guys looks great!) and they removed the transmission stud bolts (4) from the case. Can anyone tell me the torque to put these studs back in and if I need to loctite these like the head stud bolts?

There is no torque. Studs don't get torqued.

There is a torque spec when you mate the engine to the transmission and add the washers and nuts, but that spec is designed to stretch the studs so they will hold properly (also not critical - use a decently long wrench and tug hard and you'll be fine).

So just double nut the studs and run them in. Typically until the first set of threads is no longer showing, but you can measure your transmission's mounting flange to see how much stud needs to stick out in each spot so you can get a washer and a nut fully engaged on it.

The studs usually have enough friction that Loctite or the like is not required. When tightening the nuts at the end of the process they are unlikely to rotate (and if they do, that's OK). When loosening next time you pull your motor off of the transmission, they are unlikely to come off with the nut, especially if you had put a dab of anti-sieze on the threads before running the nut on.

You call these "stud bolts." You can see how that is not correct terminology, right? Bolts do get torqued. As I recall, sometimes one of these four fasteners is a bolt. The upper left (side away from the starter)? The engine case threaded hole there has a Helicoil-like insert in it, which must be for that purpose.
