Carb issue new rebuild

Just got the motor back together for my 914/6. Built with 2.7 Euro RS pistons, early S cams. Issue is with Webers, using 40 IDAP3C1 with 34 venturi, main jet 135, air correction 170, idle jet 60, F3 emulsion tubes.
Problem is way too rich at idle with mixture screws all the way in cR still runs. Float level checked a nd is okY. Timing set. Has MSD7AL2. Any suggestions appreciated. Carbs are like new.
Thanking you in Advance.

Your idle jets are far too rich for those venturies. :) :)

Try some 55 idles.

Steve, I have some 50s, but here is an up date. I pulled the idle jet out of the holder a bit and installed in housing, the jet isn't pushed back on it's holder fully. The length of jet a d holder is 16.42 mm. The seat depth see
s to be more like 17.24.
Suggestions?

I don't have any idle jet holders here at hand but perhaps you have the wrong ones.

Send me some pictures.

I installed the idle jets by extending the jet out from the holder and let the seat push it in. I have the three sets of webers and they all have the same idle jet carrier, the exception with the IDAP3C is there is no provision for the oring to recess in the housing. Every thing else the same. The motor runs strong and idles well with the jets installed as described, but concerned they will eventually leak past the seat. Still need a long term solution.
