Rebuilt Tensioners

I recived my re-build kits yesterday so this morning decided to rebuild the tensioners. I was frankly amazed at the condition of the 28 year old internals only a little shaving off the outer oil piston o-ring. Anyway got them apart and cleaned up nicely. The only tricky part is getting the small c ring back in to hold down the lower piston tricky but doable. I am not going with oil fed as I cant afford them right now plus the originals lasted 28 years so I am sure I can get another 10 at least from the rebuild although going to put the savers on just in case.

Put the guards on them and you ll be good to go. Remember to leave some room for flex, thats what the spacer is for....

Bruce thats what I meant by savers... I reckon Porsche knew what they were doing when they designed them and if rebuilt properly should be serviceable for a long time...

I believe the collars are actually an after market part but can save the engine...
