weber O rings?

I'm still working on my '69T with the '70T motor. At the moment I'm rebuilding the carbs (40 IDA 3C )and came upon a discrepenacy between the drawings and the way both of my carbs were assembled in the first place.

The idle jet holders had O rings on them when they were removed. The Weber diagrams don't show O rings in that location. The rebuild kit came with 6, 3 for the idle mixture screws, and I don't know where the other 3 go. Are the idle jet o rings a retrofit?

I'm rebuilding using kits from pelican.

Thanks!

-Dan

The earlier Webers used no o-rings but later throttle bodies used o-rings for sealing the idle jet holders and with cup washers, o-rings were installed under the springs of the mixture adjusting screws. The later bodies had idle jet holders with the threads machined off just under their heads and a counterbore in the throttle body to receive the o-rings. It is sometimes a little difficult to completely screw the idle mixture screws closed with the o-rings (and cup washers) in place.

You might be interested in having a look at my web page for variations in Weber bodies where I show the two different type of idle jet holders (Weber Model Variations):

Your Weber website is amazing! Thank you SO much for the help.

Turned out that I have the later style idle jet holders, so I installed with the o rings. assembly went pretty smoothly.

I've seen several good procedures for setting carbs, but I think the one on your website is one of the best I've seen.

Thanks again,
Dan
