CIS vs. carbs

I have the opportunity to install a rebuilt engine in my '83 Cabrio which is my daily driver. If I want to wail I race my 944 so the 911 is my "cruiser." Somewhere I found a comparison of staying with the CIS injection system vs. changing over to carbs...can someone please direct me back to that discussion? When I read it I didn't think I'd ever need to find it again.

Thanks!

Lance

While you research this, include changing to EFI, something like the Blitz Racing EFI kit. There may be others. The reviews say better drive-ability, more power, better gas mileage.
And it appears to be less $$$$$ than carbs

People will tell you what works "best for them".... Keep in mind carbs are stone age. There is all kinds of after market FI systems that work very well

carbs are old technology, there is more modern, efficient applications for sure. However, having had the pleasure of owning several Porsches, my 83 911 with carbs is the one that puts the biggest smile on my face.

hot rod/weekend toy/track car......carbs!

daily driver/family car...........injection. way better fuel economy, ease of start-up, tractability, etc.

My weekend car ('74 911) has Weber carbs and I love them! My daily driver is a 2010 MazdaSpeed3 with DISI and that's a better setup for a daily driver. My CIS was a complete mess and my fuel distributir was shot, so the cost to repair/replace/sort it out made the Webers the better setup for me...
