Question adding vacuum connections to webers

Hi everybody!
I'm busy trying to restore my '70 911T motor back to a stock config. I am going to stick with my Webers and Bosch dist, but I have hit a small snag. I just got the correct distributor for my car, a bosch 008, and realized that my 40IDAs don't have vacuum connections.

There is a blocked hole where the vacuum connections should be. Are these plugged with lead like the Haynes manual says, or will I need to drill these out?

I assume the little brass tubes you use to connect the hoses should be a generic auto parts store item.

Any other thoughts or recommendations?

Thanks,
Dan

I really thought I had a vacuum system on my distributor. Upon closer inspection, I don't. Problem solved.
