Which temperature sensors are used on an 80'
I got this motor (80') partially disassembled from PO. He included the upgraded chain tensioner covers. The covers had the thermotime switch in the left cover and the right cover was blocked off with a bolt. According to pelican the thermotime switch will control the coldstart valve on and off.
My question is do I need the temperature switch in the right cam cover p/n 930-606-117-00? If the coldstart is controlled by the thermotime then what does this one do? Parts manual says 80'+ had the 930-606-117-00. Matt

The right sensor in the cover is 1980-83 and is used in conjuction with the Lambda system. The USA 3.0 needs the lambda system working to run properly.
