2.2 to 2.4
Guys,
Looks like I have another rebuild by a first timer. Have a 70 2.2 which I have taken totally apart thanks to Wayne's book. I'm a total novice but didn't have too much trouble doing what Wayne said. I've decided to try the 2.2 to 2.4 upgrade. Got a 2.4/2.7 std. std. crank which doesn't have the crank gear or dizzy gear. Can I use the gears off the 2.2 crank ? Also Wayne's book doesn't say whether I need to use 2.4/2.7 rods or if I can use the 2.2 rods. Any help would be appreciated. I'm sure this is only the beginning of the questions but you guys seem awful helpful so maybe you can tolerate another beginner. Thanks in advance. Don |

You need the 2.4/2.7 rods because the bigend is smaller than the 2.2
The nose gears will work fine. The distributer gears are all the same except the 3.0 which rotates the dist CCW. Bruce |
