3.4 which exhaust

Hi.

Just had a 3.4 built, twinplugged and 964 cams.

Just mulling over my two options for the exhaust.
I have aquired some 3.2 SSI's.
i would need to buy the oil pipes, gaskets and a new muffler.
I have have spoke to my engine builder about suitablility for the 3.4 and he thinks they would be good for it.
I have also contacted Steve Wong who was unsure wether they would be suitable.
My only other option is stick with the standard set up, which is in really good condition. It already has a cat bypass on and I would add a sports box to it
Your thoughts would be welcome.
Which way would you jump? I do not have funds for any other options..

Exhausting choices..............

I would use the SSI exhausts. Depending on the other engine specs, they could be somewhat restrictive at high rpms, but should work fine other than that. At 3.4 liters, your engine displacement is just above the ideal for SSIs. Use them for a while, save your money and buy a proper set of headers if you think the SSIs are costing too much top end performance. I expect that you will wind up keeping them. Good luck with your project.

Another option would be a system based on 993 HEs .Rotate the exhaust flange on the pass side bank ,I forget if oil line changes are needed. If street driven they give you working heat and tube size appropriate for a 3.6. I have been told that the 3.2 SSIs are too small for a performance application and are more suitable to a 3.0 or smaller

I'd go with B&B headers. Less restrictive than the SSI's, and heat is an option. Some think SSI's are borderline for 3.2's.
