Case Studs: Which one goes where?
I've been cleaning all the part, bolts, nuts, etc in preparation for reassembly. I've got everything I removed cleaned and ordered in numerous zip-lock bags. I know where everything goes that I took off. However, what I don't know for sure is the fore and aft case studs locations for mating to the transmission and rear motor mount; Ollies took them out in the midst of align-boring the case and handed them back to me in a bag.
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1288553218.jpg Some I can figure out: - The three smallest (M6 x 27mm) are for the intermediate shaft cover. - The next smallest (M10 x 35 mm) is for the upper right rear, by the temperature sensor. - The longest (M10 x 123 mm) goes on the right front by the starter. - I assume the three M10 x 92 mm complete the front set to the transmission (one of which I'll have to wrestle free the timesert) - is that correct? - Remaining are 2 M10 x 60mm and 1 M10 x 70mm studs. If these go on the rear of the engine for the rear mount, which position gets the longer (70mm) stud? Thanks, Dave |
by the pulley, to the left gets the longer one.

Thanks Bruce.
Will there be a problem with the black M10 x 92 mm? There is a bit of offset in the thread lengths. |
The long threads go into the case

I've got to really start cranking on the assembly - I've got the parts spread out all over the guest room, my wife's patience is starting to wear thin and my mother-in-law will be needing the room when she stays with us for three weeks in January! So this helps me solve a piece of the puzzle.
Thanks, Dave |
Bring the rest of the car into the room until after January...
