looking to rent or borrow cam timing tools for 79 3.3 liter
Anyone out there have the following tools for camshaft removal that I could loan or rent for the older style 1979 camshaft nuts?
I am stuck now trying to get the engine torndown and being a cheap dutchman by nature, I was looking to rent or borrow the cam timing tools--- being the 46mm crow foot and the matching camshaft holding socket. I hate to buy these items when I only plan on using them this one time. I am not planning on making a habit out of rebuilding the engine otherwise I would not have a problem buying the tools. If anyone could help out please PM me and I can give you my contact info and address to mail to. Of course I would cover all the shipping charges and send over a six pack or 2 of Coronas with a lime on the return. Thanks alot, Fred

There is a large Porsche enthusiast community in the DC area called Dorkiphus (The Land of NoVA/DC/MD area Porschephiles - Powered by vBulletin) full of helping the self help folks around here. I have some of the tools you need when it comes time to put back together and time it. To remove the cam nut use a impact wrench. Zips em right off.'

I have for 30+ years used a 17mm open end on the end of the cam so that cuts the price considerably.
