What are the identifying marks on a `s` p/c set compared to the other p/c sets by mahle.. Specific to 2.2....Thanks S hammer

The E and the S are aluminum alloy, the T is cast iron. The alloy will have a casting size on the side showing 84 and letters representing the cylinder.
Inside the piston crown will be cast 84P84 and Mahle. This represents the 2.2S 9.8 piston.

2.2 s p/c

Thank you for your information. These are indeed 2.2 S pistons and cylinders. Also the cylinder has aluminum around the cylinder; do I need the case squirters or no? Thanks again S hammer

The 2.2 liter for the 1971 model year was the first to get piston oil squirters. The 1970 2.2 did not have them.

If you are not asking for originality, then yes, you do want the piston oil squirters.
