2.7 to 2.8

first off, thanks for reading! I'm around a year out for a re-build of my 2.7 CIS for my 76'. I had many thoughts and read many of the post concerning CIS to Carbs and options that go w/ the build, but then I was reading Excellence and saw an ad for EBS 2.7-2.8 conversion. I shot EBS a e-mail telling them I was interested in the conversion and they sent me a rough quote that day. The guys at EBS seem professional and responsive. However, I did a search on the forum and only found a few ref. concerning the work EBS does. Does anyone have any experience w/ an rebuild form them, and are there any pros and cons to 2.7 -2.8 conversion?
Thanks for all the help!

As far as the 2.7 to 2.8 conversion, should be no problem as long as you prepare the case well. I did this on a 7R case also but went with 93mm P&L's. Used L&N Engineering cylinders and JE pistons. I did not have the case cylinder bored, I used the 93mm slip in cylinders with 10.66:1 CR. I felt uncomfortable opening up the cylinder spigot bore. I wanted the head stud inserts to have as much meat around them as possible.
The 93's are working perfect but this is an extreme bore for the 7R case and is not recommended. 92mm would be a little safer.

You are always welcome to give me a call with any questions you have. I've done this conversion before myself and have sold dozens of setups like this over the years. We have both bored and plated cylinders as well as the LN Nickies for cylinder options.

BTW, good looking setup Mark!

EBS is first class.

I was considering doing a top and bottom end re-build, but I think the extra $ to convert to 2.8 is very tempting. I guess I'll have start saving my pennies!:)
Mark, thanks for the info and I'll keep in touch w/ the guys at EBS and start posting updates when I start the project.
