964 engine rebuild. What are the parts essentials and must do's?
I am starting the rebuild of a 964 MY90 engine that had rod bearing failure.
How much more fragile is a stage 1 or stage 2 crank rebuild than a standard one ? What should one change apart from the obvious things such as bearings sets gaskets and seals ? Engine has done 90k miles and had a top end rebuild 15k miles ago. Would that be a reason that might have caused a premature engine/rod bearing failure due to higher top end pressure ? Should the oil pump be changed ? Many questions, but I would like to hear your experience on these subjects |
