'72 Fan Housing & Impeller

Is there anyone on the list that can tell me what finish the fan housing and impeller should have? I am also wondering is there anyone who finishes these professionally?

Thank you in advance for the information.

Dean

You should just use a nice light chromate process to protect the Magnesium.

Or you can have ceramic coating done to them.

Give Mark Motshagen a call, 949-463-2892, he is doing my fan/housing. There is a thread on his work you can find using the search button.

+1 on ceramic coating - we also did this to the fan of my new 2.8L MFI engine:

That's a nice looking 2.8 all right. Short stroke or long? What MFI pump are you going to use?

It's a 70.4 long stroke with a knife edged crank and Carrillos etc. After discussing the intake/ exhaust configuration, displacement and cam specs with Koller & Schwemmer in Nuremburg they restored and set-up my 010 pump to near 2.8RSR specs.

Looking forward to turn the key on this one in 1-2 weeks...:)

Sounds great. Keep us posted. Thanks.

That is a great place -- Bosch of Nuremburg. Herr Sattleburger also rebuilt my 013 pump back in 2005 for a very good discounted price. These are pic's of before and on the motor.
