A couple of questions

The first question concerns valve springs. On page 212 of the R&M 911 Engines book
at the top. It gives spring rate checks. The first gives a ht of 42 to 42.5mm. The new
springs I got from Pelican are not quite that long. Am I missing something here?
It gives a measured force of 20kp. Can you relate that to Kg or pounds?
Next. Has anyone ever left the air injection nozzles out of the exhaust ports?
Does it create any problems?
Hope my questions aren't too dumb. Thanks for the help.

Lee,

When testing 911 valve spring force, test lengths include both retainer and spring seat. Installed lengths don't include those pieces.

A kilopond (kp) is a unit of kilogram-force, so kp and kg are equal. The conversion factor to pounds is 2.2, to Newtons is 9.8.

Well, John gave you the conversion factor. Your height is determined as an installed height
Reinstall the airinjector or plug it with a 10mm fine thread and locktite.

Just to be clear, here's an illustration and caption from the factory manual regarding valve spring test dimensions:
