top end rebuild
 
Gents

whats the difference between a top end rebild and a full rebuild? It may sound a silly question but im wondering what work in its entirety would need to be done for a top end rebuild as opposed to a full

Derek,

Not a silly question at all!

Generally speaking, a top-end rebuild covers the heads (valves, guides, rockers, cams) and pistons, cylinders, rings, chain tensioners, etc.

A bottom-end (complete or full) rebuild includes all of the above and adds rebuilding the rods, rod bearings, main bearings, intermediate shaft and bearings, timing chains, etc.
