915 Rebuild issues (Gateshift)

Just had my Tranny rebuilt and fitted with Wevo Gateshift kit, the Tranny was checked on the stand before being installed back into car and it was shifting ok, everything connected up and again all seemed fine... my mechanic told me whilst it was on the Dyno it got stuck in gear and couldn't get it out, he then disconnected the shift linkage etc managed to get it out of stuck gear, but says it's not shifting and selecting anything... just wondered if anyone had a similar experience or might know what it could be.

Thanks

Sounds like a bad situation. I don't envy you.

I'm guessing the gate shift needs to be adjusted although I've never installed one in a gearbox.

Good luck.

HI 996tt_Stevo
which gear was it stuck in, and get your mechanic to drop the selector plate off the bottom of the box to see why the shift rod is not selecting gears.

The problem with the Gate Shift is you can't just drop the selector plate anymore. The Gate Shift is now part of the selector rod so you have to unscrew the Gate Shift from the plate. Reinstalling it back is another problem. The selector shaft has to be maneuvered in a way to be engaged back into the shift gate then secured back onto the cover plate. I had to remove the nose cone to allow the selector rod move in a way to be engaged into the gate. Go to the WEVO site and download there instruction sheet and you'll see what I mean.
