New Bearings
I am looking into splitting the case on my 3.0. If the crank and rod bearings look good, can I put new bearings and rod bolts in the leave it at that? Do I need to polish the crank and other stuff?

You should have the rods resized if you plan on installing new bearings.
I always remove the oil galley plugs in the crank so I can thoroughly clean those passages and I follow that with a polishing.

what do you mean by resize? Grind the crank? Also, can I put the old bearings back in if they all look good?
