Pressure fed tensioner collars, use em?
I have read that the pressure fed chain tensioners can have a collar installed to prevent colapse in case of seal failure. I see that some of the engine builders use pressure fed tensioners, do you use these collars?
Thank you |
I use the internal stop upgrade, does pretty much the same thing.

Use Chain Savers on all types of tensioners just for peace of mind.
The key to survival of all types of tensioners (mechanicals excluded) is to run wide tensioner arms. Binding of the arms on the shaft is the primary reason for tensioner failure. Our host sells the wide tensioners and Supertec manufactures a replacement if you have trouble locating the factory models from our host. I also used them in my build. Turned out of a piece of round bar stock.

Thanks folks, I had not heard of the internal stop.
