oil pressure sender connection
I'm just putting my 1971 2.2 back together after rebuild. When originally taken apart, the oil pressure sender wire tab had nothing connected to it. Need help on what wire it should be connected to. Regretfully I have no skill at reading wiring diagrams.
Thanks for your help ![]() |

The oil pressure sender on a 71 sits on the top next to the thermostat and has fine thread smaller insert into the case. You need the longer cam oil line when you remove the block in the picture.

Look in the engine wiring harness that the wire shown in the picture comes from. It is possible your oil pressure wire has broken off and is inside the harness. HTH Jim

Oil Pressure sender
Thanks for the help. I failed to mention that the 2.2 engine is a transplant into what was originally a 72 911t. I looked at the oil thermostat and there is indeed a red topped sensor/sender parked next to it with a blue wire connected to it and it is obvious this a later change as it is totally separate from any harness.
So, I assume I'm OK for now as I've never had any problems the way it is currently set up. I'm sorry I don't quite understand the info about the old? pressure sender. Is removing it and replacing it with a longer line to the chain tensioner optional or required? Thanks all |
