911 ignition

my question is--i have a 69 911 targa and i want to put a later motor i have in it. not sure what size but the fan housing has a 930 parts# on it. i know the serial# is on the case etc. the dist connection has the 6 pin hookup. can i use the cd unit in the car and if so how does it hookup? its a 2.0 targa car

The new engine sounds like a 3.0 from an SC. You'll need to use a later ignition box or an aftermarket box like MSD. The new motor has a magnetic sensor instead of points for the igniton system (6 pin set-up). If you get an aftermarket ignition (MSD 6AL or equivalent) it will come with wiring instructions.

You just need to power up the ignition with a single red with stripe so you have key on power in the start position.
With a 69 you should move all the 69 engine harness and connections to the engine to interface with the body harness. It is completely different than the engine and all later engines.
