Zenith Problems

Freshened up a 2.2T that had been setting for many years. At some point the car sat outside where the rings seized, so that was the primary focus of the rebuild. Most of the pre-atomizers were bad so I got into each of the carb bowls in making that repair. Pulled out all the brass jets and cleared passageways that are exposed from the bowl opening. Beyond that, I didn't touch any of the external jetting assuming I'd do more harm than good. Was also careful not to disturb the distributor.
Sprayed some starting fluid in and it fired right up. Unfortunately, the float bowls were overflowing up through the tubes and down the carb throats. Installed a regulator and now the bowls are full, but the engine will only run on the starting fluid. Any thoughts?

Looking for someone to focus my efforts on the Idle Circuit which should be enough to make it run. If it runs I'll start a paint job. Otherwise I move over to the Spare Parts forum. ;~)

Don,

I think you really need to do a complete rebuild. Not hard to do. Everything needs to come out so you can clean the idle circuit. You dont have to remove the lead plugs.

PP sells a kit to rebuild them. Searh my posts and youll find valuable info on replacement o-rings for the idle screws and the acceleration jets.

Once you have rebuilt them, your problem should be solved.

Mike
