Watercooled?

I will call but I thought I'd ask here too, Does Henry rebuild water cooled engines? I have a 2002 C4S with a blown IMS bearing which caused other damage. Thanks!

If you have a 2002 Carrera4S with the IMS failure...you are better off buying a new engine from Porsche.

The reason I say this is that with the IMS bearing now failed, you have junk all through out the engine and oil system.

Sorry to hear this, and good luck.

TibetanT - Yes, it has an IMS bearing failure. The Engine is completely disassembled. SOme damage was found but it wasn't as bad as it could have been. I bought a new IMS Tube with a new ceramic bearing installed. THe chains rails had some wear and one oil pump had some damage. I plan on rebuilding it. I am considering buying a used engine so I can run the car while I rebuild the engine either myself or pay someone.

Flat 6 Innovations apparently is one of THE BEST rebuilders in the country from what I hear from a few people in the racing community. Jack Raby has some great reviews, however, he gets top $$ for his work. They also have a great class on how to rebuild a 911 engine. Don't know if I can afford that route.

Good Luck to all those out there trying to rebuild!

FirstPorsche. on your rebuild I highly recommend you replace the scavenge oil pumps in the heads and get a new oil filter housing. I find it too hard to get all the fine bits out of the plastic filter housing.
