glyco rod bearings...need quick help with part numbers
I ordered 2.4 std rod bearings. I open the fresh pack of Glyco rod bearings and they are obviously the wrong size bearings. Then I notice that the top seal on the box with part number 71-2349/6 has printed "2.0-2.2"...crap. I have another box of std bearings for a 3.0 I am about to assemble, so I grab it...part number 7--3426/6 and the tape on the top shows 3.0-3.2. Now the 2.0-2.2 is a 66mm crank, and the 2.4-2.7 is a 70.4 crank. Isn't the 3.0 also a 70.4 crank? Shouldn't the bearings for the 2.4-2.7 be the same for the 3.0? I thought the 3.2 crank and rods went to a 74mm. I was all set to get this engine assembled this weekend, and now I find they sent me the wrong bearings?
Help is appreciated. Speedo |

The 2.0/2.2 is a larger bearing than the 2.4/2.7 because thee factory got some of the stroke increase by making the throw smaller.
The 3.0 bearings are a thinner bearing than the 2..4/2.7 although they have the same stroke. The 3.0 rod bearings are not the same as the 3.2/3.6 bearings, same reason. I dont believe it ll be this weekend.... Bruce |
