Unreachable nut on cylinder 6
This seems like a simple problem, but I cannot reach the last nut on the intake manifold flange on cylinder 6...I'm trying to remove the fuel injection system on an '82 Targa. I've tried ridiculous numbers of sockets and wrenches, and inevitably, if I can get a socket on there, I have too much articulation from all the wobbles to actually apply any torque. Any suggestions??? See pics! Thanks

Why not just remove whats in your way?

I'm pretty sure I got them all off with a 3/8" socket and universal on a 6" extension. You have to try different angles sometimes.

Use swivel sockets.......
Like what Bruce suggested, use the correct tool. I have an assortment of swivel sockets from Sears Hardware and have been removing these CIS compoments for years with ease. Use a swivel socket with a 6" extension and you could remove/install all the intake runners in minutes.

What I think everyone is saying, just to be clear, is not adding a socket to a universal. Sears sells specific sockets with universal permanently attached so they are nice and small. The perfect tool for the job. Just connect it to a nice long extention and you will be good to go.

Thanks everybody, I'll give the extension and swivel socket a go!
